week 37: new car, who dis? 🚙

hey fam, I know I know, the title of my email doesn't make sense cause we JUST got a new car like 3 weeks ago... surprise! we got a new car again! it's been a good week :)

can I ask a favor? can y'all pray for my friends? I know prayer is powerful and it works :)

spiritual thought: I studied a talk by President Russell M Nelson called "The Everlasting Covenant" and I learned about "hesed" which is a Hebrew word for a special kind of covenantal love! "Because of our covenant with God, He will never tire in His efforts to help us, and we will never exhaust His merciful patience with us"

when we are baptized we enter into a covenant relationship with God which binds us to Him and because of that He has a special kind of love for us and will continue to work with us and give us opportunities to change. He loves us so much. He wants us all to come unto Him and enter into this covenant with Him! that's why missionary and temple work is so important! we need to gather Israel on both sides of the veil!

now I'll tell y'all about my week

MONDAY

we had a zone activity on the OSU practice fields! then we went to get smoothies with the sisters! other than that nothing super significant.

TUESDAY

we went to Walmart and remembered our friend Justin works there! we saw him and I decided I wanted to give him a chance to see us before we said anything (didn't wanna look like stalkers..) so I looked at something on a shelf close by and ya know what that guy did? he ran. he was like 🏃🏻‍♂️ outta there as fast as his lil legs could carry him. I don't think he wanted to see us..

we finally met Brandon who's a friend the elders met before we got doubled in. he showed up at church one day. apparently he's doing some sort of study where he's going to every single church in his town and trying to find the pattern. he's wondering why he can't find God in the churches. we had a really good lesson and I think he's on the right path to find Jesus Christ's true church!

WEDNESDAY

shoutout to my mission mama sister Jordan 🥳 she turned 21! 🎉

we had district council and talked about Christlike love! we had quite a few lessons and had a few friends commit to coming to church! we met the STL's at local cantina for tacos to celebrate sister Jordan's birthday!

THURSDAY

we had training visits! I spent the whole day with sister jordan, my trainer on OSU campus! best day ever. we literally walked campus all day long and talked to everyone we came across. we invited everyone to institute and some of them came! institute is so good btw. I didn't wanna leave! call me a buckeye I guess cause GO OHIO STATE! 🌰❤️ one of the members plays for their football team and he bore fat testimony of tithing at one of our lessons! it was so much fun to get to talk to and connect with people my own age

FRIDAY

we met the sweetest lady ever! her name is melody and she had us sit on her porch without even asking who we were first or what we wanted. she's precious and very elect. okay okay I have a kinda silly story. at dinner I needed to make fry sauce cause that's not a thing over here.. but I needed it. so I got the ketchup out but that's when I remembered the lid is TIGHT on our ketchup bottle.. we gave up last time. it felt like it was glued right on there! but I needed my fry sauce so I tried and tried to open it. after way too long of trying I decided to pray. I know that's silly but I prayed and asked Heavenly Father to help me open my ketchup bottle. and ya know what? after that I had sister nelson hold the bottle while I twisted the lid and BOOM it opened. God is good. He answers prayers. and I also learned that He wants you to pray. all the time. about anything and everything. we can't do this life on our own and sometimes we need to humble ourselves and ask for help. even with little things like opening a bottle of ketchup.

after that we had a silly lil tornado watch so I studied D&C 109 in the downstairs bathroom :)

SATURDAY

we got our new car! it's a Toyota Corolla Cross. it gets good mileage so they decided we needed it 😅 our area is big and spread out so we drive a lot. we had a lot of friends tell us they'd be at church! I saw this cutie lil local farm store and the guy gave me a peacock feather! I love peacocks 🦚

SUNDAY

holy smokes. Sundays as a missionary are stressful! we had Brooke and her parents come and then Taylor and Dylan and their two kids and her cousin and two neighbor kids! that's 10 people at church! it was awesome! Taylor and Dylan said they'll be back next week 🥳 we also had a few miracles and found TWO new very elect friends! Lashawna and McKenzie! life is good. God is good. He's so aware of each one of us and has a perfect plan :)
