Week 7: "what are you troublemakers up to?"

Howdy 🤠 It's been a good week! It kinda flew.. how are y'all doing? I love and miss you all!

Monday
P Day! We decided to go to Euclid to hangout with the STL's and Sister Woolston dyed sister Jordan's hair. It was fun to get to know them better and spend time with them.
Um the wifi at the church wasn't working so it kept kicking me out of calls with my family and lowkey I cried a little bit.. I guess I miss them more than I thought

Tuesday
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALISON! my baby sister turned 13?! So I got to call her and the call actually had good connection that time.
We went to seminary which only had two students.. Ohio is nothing like Utah. Also apparently I'm really bad at picking streets to knock. We got to this street and parked and this house on the corner had people looking out the windows staring at us so we decided to park somewhere else and start knocking the other side. The very first house a lady answered and we started talking to her then she goes "I'm catholic" and shuts the door slowly without another word. The whole street was similar, either people didn't answer or they rejected us hard. But honestly I've never had more fun knocking in my life. We were laughing and singing and dancing and running and laughing down the whole street 😂 then we got to the last house... the one that was staring at us. It was raining by then and sister Jordan didn't wanna knock because they were staring at us before but I said "no door left unknocked!" So we knocked and this young dad answered saying he didn't have much time because he was gonna put his son to bed so we gave him some information and he seemed super interested and said he'd love for us to come back!

Wednesday
We had district council in Kirtland! The Brockbanks (mission president's brother and his wife) brought a huge edible arrangement of fruit! It was yummy.
While knocking we found a lady who only spoke Spanish so we used google translate to communicate and ask if we could call the Hermanas, she said yes and then we called them and they had a conversation with her over the phone and set up a lesson! It was so cool! I couldn't understand anything being said but it was cool to be part of that.

Thursday
We went to Marc's and found pillow pets for 5 bucks that were Ohio State Buckeyes and we had to get them!
We started doing 100's workouts where we do 100 of a bunch of exercises and now my legs are sore.

Friday
Friday was a bunch of meetings as always. We finally set up a Kirtland tour with the Duncan's! We visited Matilyn and talked to her about temples!
We have this neighbor at our apartment who is always outside working on his motorcycle. We always wave and he looks at me funny whenever I back sister Jordan out lol but Friday when we got out of the car he said "what are you troublemakers up to?" And we've been laughing about it ever since. We decided we're gonna talk to him for real one of these days.

Saturday
We went to the historic Kirtland sites with the Duncan's! They wanted to do the outside tour because it was a beautiful day outside. It was fun to get to see this tour as a missionary! After the tour we asked the Kirtland elders to give the Duncan's priesthood blessings. They've been going through a lot lately so we asked if they'd be interested and they were! It was a really cool experience and afterwards they said they felt different and that they felt special. Now they're trying to set lessons up with us so I think that's a good sign.
Pray for the Duncan's and their daughter!

Sunday
Matilyn came to church! Yay! Sacrament Meeting was really good and young woman's was really good too. We talked about being disciples of Christ and people who are good examples of that for you. I told them about my good friend, Grace Durkin, who is full of the light of Christ. Those of you who don't know her, she is the absolute sweetest soul. Most genuine and kind person I've ever met. I LOVE YOU GRACE
We had dinner at the Juker's and they're actually my favorite people! We made homemade calzones which was pretty cool and then just talked about all sorts of stuff. They told us President Juker's conversion story/their love story and it was so cool!

Spiritual thought: Honeybees spend their entire life working to make honey.
In it's lifetime, a single honeybee adds 1/12 of a teaspoon to it's hive yet an entire hive can produce 60-100 pounds of honey in a year.
The lesson of the honeybee teaches each of us that even 1/12 of a teaspoon can produce something sweet.
You are a disciple of Jesus Christ.
Sharing your testimony, serving others, inviting a friend to church, or saying hello to a neighbor might seem like a small thing, but when many people each do something small, together they accomplish something incredible.
