week 48: we hate the dentist 🦷

 good morning friends! it's been an eventful week! let's get right into it

spiritual thought: at zone conference we talked about Jesus Christ and His atonement! we talked about the great question in Alma 34:5 
"And we have beheld that the great question which is in your minds is whether the word be in the Son of God, or whether there shall be no Christ."

The Book of Mormon has thousands of testimonies of Jesus Christ and teaches us about His atonement and how to access the power of His atonement. I know as you study it daily it'll truly help you grow closer to your Savior! I've seen it in my own life. I'm so grateful for the Book of Mormon and I'm grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ! I know He loves each of you so much! in the name of Jesus Christ, amen

MONDAY
zone activity! we went to a park and played ultimate Frisbee! then we played a lil get to know you game and ate some snacks. 

TUESDAY
we went to the dentist 😬 apparently both of us had bad teeth so we went and got them fixed. I've never been to the dentist without my mama so that was yikes. but it's okay cause God is aware of me and they played a Morgan Wallen song so all is well. Sister Turner didn't hold back and told them we hate the dentist 😂
we had a lesson with Zeck and he's so awesome because whenever we read scriptures we don't even have to ask him questions. he just tells us what he thinks and why it stands out to him and we love it. 

WEDNESDAY
training visits! Hermana Taylor came with me for the day! we had a lesson with Laura and she was super excited to have someone there who could speak her language. I'm not even sure about most of what we talked about but somehow we got on the subject of music and she told me she didn't know who Taylor Swift is?!?! so I introduced her of course. I think she loved it. I know I did. 

THURSDAY
zone conference! it was so good and spirit-filled as always. we talked a lot about Jesus Christ and His atonement. the Prestwich's gave their departing testimonies which was sad. I can't believe they're going home! actually they're probably home now. we had dinner with the Cruse's! 

FRIDAY
holy smokes I've officially been a missionary for 11 months. where on earth did the time go? we started our day by going on a run and we found this old park with an abandoned-looking trail. ummm we basically ran through a puddle and the day only went downhill from there. that's what I get for trying to run. 

SATURDAY
welp we didn't learn and tried to run again. the park we were gonna go to ended up having a car show at it so we went to a lake instead.. there wasn't much of a trail... lots of hills. we got some running in. we had a lesson with our creole friend Jean but we don't speak creole so we called the creole sisters and they taught him while sister Turner and I sat there wondering what they were saying. we studied Alma 34 with a recent convert named Shawn. he's living out my hillbilly dreams. an icon really. then we met Evan, a die-hard catholic. he said he'd look into the Book of Mormon so let's hope the Spirit works on him.

SUNDAY
we went to church of course! we went knocking and met kelsey who's grandparents were members of the church! she said she wants us to come back next week. then we stopped by our friend Ashley and she dropped us :( but God will prepare her. she'll be ready on His time :) we had a mission wide devotional where brother and sister Weaver, the Amish converts, told us about their conversion story! so cool.
we also found this beautiful wildflower patch and had to stop to take pictures hehe

  hey fam, I know I know, the title of my email doesn't make sense cause we JUST got a new car like 3 weeks ago... surprise! we got a new car again! it's been a good week :)  can I ask a favor? can y'all pray for my friends? "Because of our covenant with God, He will never tire in His efforts to help us, and we will never exhaust His merciful patience with us"  when we are baptized we enter into a covenant relationship with God which binds us to Him and because of that He has a special kind of love for us and will continue to work with us and give us opportunities to change.
