spiritual thought
how's everyone's Christlike attribute study going? I've been studying diligence and something I liked in pmg was "Diligence is consistent, earnest effort. In missionary work, diligence is an expression of your love for the Lord. When you are diligent, you find joy and satisfaction in the Lord’s work"
specifically when it says its an expression of your love for the Lord. if you love the Lord you're willing to do what He has asked of you and that's being diligent!
now for the week
MONDAY
we hungout with the sisters and made cute charm bracelets! other than that just a regular p day
TUESDAY
it was pbz night which means we got transfer news. we were pretty sure one of us was leaving so we decided to go hit some bucket list items. we went to this cutie restaurant called Brassica! it was so yummy! we had a lesson with Kia, Brittany and Daniel and Miasia joined too! we tried to go to Mary Yoder's for dinner but they were closed but then we visited the Ravasz family! we waited forever for pbz to drop and found out i was being transferred to CLEVELAND! and sister Wirth is training!
WEDNESDAY
we spent all day saying bye to my favorite people! it was so sad! we went to young women's so i could say bye to them too. Sister Juker has a family emergency so she had to leave and I didn't actually get to say bye to her :( but President Juker gave us matching scarves. I miss Chardon already
THURSDAY
transfer day! we drove all the way to Columbus so sister wirth could be at her training meeting. I got to see all of my past companions. Sister Jordan is training too! it was fun to meet everyone's new companions. mine is Sister Fluckiger! like flu π€§ key π grrrr π―
we came out together! in fact we were companions on our first night in Ohio when we stayed in a hotel room! we drove home to CLEVELAND and we doubled into an elders area! which means our apartment was nasty π we went to the sketchiest walmart I've ever seen and I think that was the best welcome to cleveland I ever could've had.
FRIDAY
happy birthday Rebekah! she's 15 now?!
first full day in cleveland! we spent a lot of it cleaning and unpacking and trying to figure out what's going on in our area cause the elders gave us ZERO information before they left. a nice member called us and invited us over for dinner and ended up telling us a lot of information. overwhelming information but still information. for dinner we had homemade pizza and everything down to the sauce was homemade and absolutely delicious. Sister Galvan actually served in the Ohio Columbus Mission so that's cool! they have 3 precious daughters and it was so much fun to get to know them a little bit!
SATURDAY
it's been 5 months since I was set apart as a missionary! same with sister Fluckiger! we spent a lot of the day doing stop bys and nobody was answering. we went to a referral and the address took us to this sketchy apartment building. I got a lil freaked out and said hey let's just skip this one and sister Fluckiger was thinking the same thing. but then she said "I feel like we need to go" so I said oh boy and followed her into the building. the door was locked so we tried the other side and it was opened?! we walked right in and found our referral and had a really good lesson! she said we could come back! gotta love the spirit.
SUNDAY
our first Sunday in Cleveland! we have two sets of swahilli elders in our ward and also the Campbell's who are a senior couple! sister Campbell's parents used to be next door neighbors to my grandparents! so when they saw my name they already basically knew me ahahah
we had an interesting testimony meeting but the spirit was there. one of the guys gave a testimony in swahilli so an elder got to translate for him! at the end he said "oh and also I'm ready to be baptized" it was so amazing!
then during Sunday school we had a friend come who is deaf so with the tiny bit of sign language we know and the help of his fancy app we were able to communicate with him and send his information to a sister who knows sign language! he kept typing things out to us and even asked some questions about the word of wisdom! so it was really cool to get to teach him without speaking!
these past 5 months have been absolutely wild! I can't believe how fast it's going! Cleveland is different but it's so much fun and I'm so excited for this new change.
feel free to reach out! I love hearing from you guys! I miss and love you all
