week 26: 🎶I like carn yes my do🎶🌽

good morning everyone! it's been a good week! how are y'all? let me know :)

spiritual thought: "Faith in Jesus Christ is the greatest power available to us in this life. All things are possible to them that believe."
Christ Is Risen; Faith in Him Will Move Mountains

i love this talk by President Nelson

we've been talking a lot about faith and the power that comes from it. a word I've noticed come up a lot lately is desire. Elder Dallin H. Oaks shared in his April 2011 general conference talk, "Let us remember that desires dictate our priorities, priorities shape our choices, and choices determine our actions."

if we have a desire to believe and act on that then we can strengthen our faith in Jesus Christ and be able to access that power in our lives.

Moroni 7:33
And Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me.

1 Nephi 7:12
Yea, and how is it that ye have forgotten that the Lord is able to do all things according to his will, for the children of men, if it so be that they exercise faith in him? Wherefore, let us be faithful to him.

"The Lord does not require perfect faith for us to have access to His perfect power. But He does ask us to believe."
"Faith is the power that enables the unlikely to accomplish the impossible." -President Russell M. Nelson

MONDAY
the hermanas did some shopping for us cause we were still sick so that was very nice of them! we gaslit hermana Larson into thinking she forgot to get us corn even though we put on our list multiple times that we DON'T need corn. it was so funnyyyy

TUESDAY
our last sick day! we had a mission wide zoom conference with Elder D. Martin Goury of the Seventy cause he was here for a mission tour!

WEDNESDAY
it was so good to finally be out again! we had an amazing lesson with our friend Melissa! shes currently struggling with the loss of a loved one so we talked about the plan of salvation and she said it gave her peace and comfort! we had book of mormon class and a member showed up with girl scout cookies for us hehe one of the elder's friends Howe came and it was so awesome to get to study the book of mormon with him! he's so cool

THURSDAY
zone conference! I GOT TO SEE SISTER WIRTH! 🐁 it brought me so much joy! I've missed her! we had Elder Goury there and he greeted us each individually so that was really cool! it was a powerful conference and we talked about having faith to baptize weekly! one of the elders asked "how do we get the ward on board with that?" And Elder Goury said "the prophet told us the Lord is hastening His work. do you want to be the one to put the breaks on that? then let the missionaries do their job"
I love him.
after zone conference we took pictures at the kirtland temple cause sister Fluckiger had never been to kirtland before! it really put into perspective how lucky I am to be so close to it! I've been in Kirtland Zone my whole mission until now

FRIDAY
our lessons kept canceling but we talked to a couple new people. we had dinner at the Butler's which is always a good time! they told us they're selling their house to travel the country so if anyone wants a house in Cleveland Ohio within walking distance of the church let me know

SATURDAY
I hit 6 months of being a missionary! that's WILD. we had training visits with the STL's again! this time Hermana Pineda came to cleveland with me! we had 4 lessons that all canceled but we made the most of the day and met a few cool people! that night the other sisters said they had a member meal and that we were invited. so all 4 of us went over and they're Peruvian so I didn't understand what they were saying half the time. the hermanas would translate for us 😂 (I guess I'm not fluent)
they made us a Peruvian meal! it was called ceviche! I was a bit surprised when they put it on the table and it wasn't cooked... but I guess thats what ceviche is... raw fish! it was actually so yummy! it was spicy too 😂 they were like sweating and their eyes were watering. but I love spicy. they also had this sort of corn stuff, (like corn but bigggg) and some kind of corn nuts but like they tasted good. (regular store bought corn nuts are gross) the members kept laughing at me because I just kept grabbing more!
honestly 10/10 experience.

SUNDAY
shoutout to ryder! my best friend from back home, he turned 21?! church was so good! we actually got to know a few members a little better. sadly none of our friends showed up but the swahilli missionaries had so many! it was awesome! Howe came to church and was excited to see us again! after class I overheard the bishop talking to him about what covenants are! so cool!

I hope you all have a wonderful week! I miss you and love you all! email me! I'd love to hear about your week!
til next time
