week 30: if you can feel it... CHASE IT 🌪

another week has past... how's everyone doing? can you believe it's the end of March?! time is going so fast!

this one's a lil longer cause of my story time at the end :)

spiritual thought: at stake conference everyone was talking about ways they look unto Christ and feel His spirit! something one guy pointed out was that sometimes the spirit can seem like your own thought popping into your head. they don't call it the still small voice for no reason.
some people wonder, how do I know if the thought is from God or if it's just me? if the thought is good or leads you to do something good then you can trust that it's from God.

1 Kings 19:11-12
11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

Moroni 7:13
13 But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God.

MONDAY
we did service at the food pantry first thing in the morning then headed to a district activity where we played card games and the Prestwich's made us lunch! we went to home depot and looked at all the plants and then had dinner with the Arslanians! they're the best!

TUESDAY
our friend CJ lost her dog. we asked if she needed help and she told us to come over. then we ended up cleaning her room. not what we expected but I'm glad we could help! she has some medical issues and couldn't do it by herself, she's a sweetheart.
we accidently knocked into a grey dot (someone who's been taught previously) she was super nice! she knew exactly who we were and let us in and we talked for awhile. she still had her Book of Mormon from the elders and said she reads it occasionally so that was cool!
we had dinner with the Snavely's who took us out to a Mexican restaurant! their son, Beckett is 2 years old and he's absolutely adorable! he kept covering his face and then I'd say "where'd beckett go?" And he'd uncover it and I'd gasp and say "there he is!" and he'd laugh so hard!

WEDNESDAY
we had district council and the Prestwich's brought us pizza! then sister nelson realized she lost her wallet. it had been gone since monday so we went looking for it. after searching everywhere we could think of we decided to look at the church and we found it! it must've fallen out of her pocket when she was talking to her family on Monday
we had dinner with the Waltz's which are a senior couple who just got back from their mission in California! they're amazing and we love them!

THURSDAY
we had training visits so sister saulsbury came to greenfield with me and sister nelson went french for the day! we found 3 new friends, two of them speak Spanish but the Spanish branch is too far away for their liking so we said they're welcome to come with us! they speak a little bit of english, enough for us to communicate so that's cool!
we also visited some inactive members and I can't even begin to try to explain this visit to you. it was quite the trip. they were all roasting each other and roasting us and talking over each other and the wife told us the same story 3 times. Sister saulsbury and i were just cracking up in the corner

FRIDAY
food pantry service again! it's so much fun! we had a few unexpected but really good lessons! dinner with the Brooks who are just awesome and their dog Callie is cute too!
we talked to a girl named abby, she's 16 and seems very interested in learning more about Jesus! we talked about Him and His atonement! we told her about how much He loves her! later that night she texted us and told us we could come back the next day! she's precious!

SATURDAY
we talked to abby again! taught her THE WAY! she wants to get baptized! we didn't set a date yet because we need parent permission first but it's so cool to see her desire!
we had the adult session of stake conference, everyone talked about ways they come unto Christ and feel His spirit in their lives. it was such a good meeting and the spirit was so strong the whole time!
afterwards we had zone prayer in person (usually it's over zoom)

SUNDAY
stake conference part 2 and afterwards President and sister Brockbank held a youth missionary devotional for a little q&a with the youth and all the missionaries in the stake! the point was to help the youth have a higher desire to serve missions and it was awesome! honestly so powerful! if you're thinking about it, you should serve a mission too! it's the best decision I ever made.
after that we had a lesson with our friend Taylor where we very boldly told her that her kid's baptisms didn't count. and that the power and authority from God is only found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. she took it well! she said she was gonna talk to her family about it and wants to get them all rebaptized!

okay story time: I need a whole new paragraph for this one... we got home after a long day of pros and I went up to my room to write in my journal, sister nelson was taking a shower and then I heard LOUD sirens. I've heard them before, twice, but both on Friday at noon which means they were just testing them. but it was Sunday night at 9:12
the sirens mean severe weather, so like thunder storms or of course a tornado warning. after about 15 minutes of these sirens going off I got a lil worried so I checked my weather app and it said tornado warning?!?!
tornado watch means "conditions are favorable for a tornado"
tornado warning means "a tornado has been spotted in the county, seek shelter immediately"
well my companion finally got out of the shower and asked "is that the sirens?" And I said "HAVE YOU NOT HEARD THEM FOR THE PAST 20 MINUTES?!" So she checked her phone and sure enough there's a tornado warning. we did the only logical thing and went outside to see if we could see the tornado. there was no crazy wind or anything so we weren't too worried but sat in the bathroom downstairs anyways. we were just making jokes when all the sudden wind started whistling and hail started pouring. I was on the toilet seat while she was on the sink and we both looked at each other just listening and at the same time we both jumped up and sat on the floor against the wall. after an hour of the sirens they finally turned off which meant we were safe again... i guess that was just the start to tornado season..
I definitely vlogged the whole thing so check out my google photos

it's been a good week as always! tell me about yours! I love and miss you all!
