spiritual thought: I was studying a lot about sacrifice after kirtland zone conference because the early saints sacrificed so much! I read "Our Heartfelt All" by Elder Uchtdorf in the april 2022 general conference and i loved these quotes from it:
"To sacrifice means to give something up in favor of something more valuable"
"When we consecrate something...we put it to use in the Lord’s service. We dedicate it to Him and His holy purposes."
"Very few of us will ever be asked to sacrifice our lives for the Savior. But we are all invited to consecrate our lives to Him."
I realized I'm not giving up my time. I'm using it for the Lord's purposes.
it's so cool that as a missionary I get to consecrate my time right now to His work and gathering His children. I'm so grateful for my Savior and His atoning sacrifice that made this all possible!
okay NOW I'll tell you about my week
MONDAY
we drove up to Solon to stay the night with sister Summers and sister Wolfley! so much fun because sister Summers was my mtc companion and sister wolfley is from Moapa, Nevada so we have lots of connection and know a lot of the same people!
TUESDAY
first off, shoutout to my bestie sister wirth cause it was her 20th birthday 🥳
Kirtland Zone Conference
I can't put into words how amazing it was! we got to tour the sites and had our very own tour guide President Joe Jackson at some of the stops along the way. starting at the Morley Farm and ending in the Kirtland temple, it was a very spiritual and testimony building experience! I got to be in the choir and we sang "When the Savior comes again" and "The Spirit of God" in the Kirtland temple! it was powerful. Sister Bottorff from Chardon volunteers at the sites so I got to see her!
holy we drove home after that and between stopping for gas and a potty break, we didn't get back till midnight 😅
WEDNESDAY
we had district council where we shared our insights about Kirtland conference. it was awesome, I loved hearing what the other missionaries learned from it! the Prestwich's fed us lunch as always! they're the best. we decided during our dinner hour to take a lil nap because we were literally dead. we met a referral who wanted to learn more about the Book of Mormon! he's elect.
THURSDAY
we went to the Niemeyer's to help them with yard work cause they're getting ready to move! pulled weeds and trimmed trees and all the things. we later stopped by a referral who happened to be a member! we had lost her address after they moved so it's a miracle she reached back out! um we stopped by this old inactive member and he seemed cool at first until he started asking if we were married and then goes "so you're gonna go home and get married?" I said "eventually" and he said "then I'll keep this one here and maybe eventually we'll get married" UH- SIR- you just told us you were 80... poor sister nelson lol we got outta there quick.
FRIDAY
we went to the food pantry but the people who were usually there weren't this time so it was up to sister nelson and I to pack all the boxes. TIWI went wild after we did some stop bys. she wouldn't let us log in... bit then she'd yell at us for not logging in.. then eventually she said "panic message sent" BRUH so we called elder Schumann who told us to call customer support, who told us they'd call us back so we called elder Schumann again and he told to call them back but when we did they told us they'd call us back and after awhile we were able to figure it out..
then we had a really cool lesson with Taylor and her neighbor Carley! we were talking about baptism and the authority from God and Carley goes "Wait I'm confused" so that's when we told her about the restoration! then Taylor asked "is there a way we can like set a date and start the process?" and we were like BANG SO GLAD YOU ASKED! so Taylor and Carley are now preparing to be baptized!
it was so cool cause later another neighbor came out and mentioned he'd been baptized before and carley literally turns to look at him, says "but your baptism wasn't valid because you weren't baptized at their church!" and then turned back to us. I died. that was the best moment of my life.
SATURDAY
I hit halfway! that's absolutely crazy. we invited everyone and their moms to church and then invited Jesse to be baptized! he's so cool! talked to frank and held his granddaughters TINY puppy they call "Big Head" 😂 sister waltz joined us for a couple lessons but both of them fell through so we visited the Carson's! then later we stopped by Lori who said she wouldn't be home but she was.. sitting in her car. we reminded her about church and told her we'd stop by in the morning to remind her
SUNDAY
we went to stop by Lori.. she texted us saying she wasn't feeling well enough for church or visitors.. we ignored that and went over anyways but her car wasn't there so i guess she was feeling well enough to go somewhere else. bruh. we went to church which was great as always. none of our friends pulled up but that's okay cause at least I got to take the Sacrament. we got to join the young women for classes which is always fun. the waltz's fed us lunch and then we had a lesson with Brandon. he told us his come to Jesus story and lemme tell ya, I was at the edge of my seat the whole time. I feel like I just watched a movie. he's had a wild life. but now here he is searching for God's church. he's already found it but he just doesn't know it yet lol
it's been a good week! now I wanna hear from you! literally please email me it makes my whole day :)
I miss and love you all! till next time!
