week 39: out in the country past the city limits sign 🤠

hey i know what youre thinking.. its not monday. yep but i wanted to go to the temple so you had to wait for this email. I've officially been a missionary for 9 months 🤯

prayer list:
Taylor and Dylan
Carley
Jesse
Chuck
Brandon and his son, Brandon

spiritual thought: I've been reading The Infinite Atonement and this last chapter I read was talking all about God's infinite love for us. Jesus Christ had a perfect knowledge of what He volunteered to do. but He went through with it purely because He loves us!

in Jeffery R. Holland's talk "Tomorrow the Lord will do Wonders among You" he says
"the first great commandment of all eternity is to love God with all of our heart, might, mind, and strength—that’s the first great commandment. But the first great truth of all eternity is that God loves us with all of His heart, might, mind, and strength."
he also said
"No matter how serious the trial, how deep the distress, how great the affliction, [God] will never desert us. He never has, and He never will. He cannot do it. It is not His character [to do so]. … He will [always] stand by us."
and
"His divine love and unfailing help will be with us even when we struggle—no, will be with us especially when we struggle."

it's been a theme I've noticed this week that God loves us and is so aware of each of us! I know He has a perfect plan and everything happens for a reason!

alright let's get into it

MONDAY
last district activity of the transfer! we went to a park and played ultimate Frisbee, senior comps vs junior comps. (junior comps won heheh) a guy named Brady was at the park and wanted to join. apparently he played ultimate Frisbee in high school. he was cracked. that's prolly why we won lol

TUESDAY
it rained basically all day. we had a few lil lessons, dinner with the stucki's and found out their daughter Hailey has never tried shrimp. 🫢 pov that's my favorite thing in the world. we knocked and found our friend pattie who let us in and gave us her phone so we could show her the app that will read the book of mormon to her! she's precious

WEDNESDAY
last district council of the transfer! I had to give a training! which means I studied about a certain topic and lead a discussion of how we can focus more on that area. we talked about helping our friends understand the importance of coming to church to take the Sacrament. we had some lessons and sister Arslanian gave us some yummy smores cookies. visited some members. Bonnie gave us some of her jewelry!

THURSDAY
we met a few cool people! woody, jam,  and Terry Wilson! we knocked into him and he was super nice! talked to us for quite awhile. during comp study we found a lake and started skipping rocks lol that was fun. nothing super significant happened really

FRIDAY
had a lesson with Brandon! he invited his 18 year old son, brandon and bought pizza for us! it was a really good time! we got to tell lil brandon about what we do as missionaries and he seemed pretty confused lol seed planted for sure hehe

SATURDAY
I finished the Book of Mormon front to back for the 2nd time ever! started over again cause I still got more to learn. it's fun going back through and noticing things I missed. we had a grey dot stop by and the guy told us he was literally thinking about the missionaries earlier today... had a lesson with Taylor and Dylan! Dylan said he wants to get baptized! he said he has a gut feeling that we know what we're talking about and what we're saying is true! we went knocking later and before we even got out sis nelson said she felt like we needed to go to another street. so we drove somewhere else and knocked, talked to a few people but the last one was chuck! he was so nice! we invited him to church and he was like "yeah maybe I'll stop by and check it out sometime" but we kept talking and by the end of our conversation he said "I'll see you tomorrow"
let's just say we danced to our car 😂

SUNDAY
I HIT 9 MONTHS! that's absolutely wild. I have not been here that long?!
Chuck and Brandon came to church! we had fast and testimony meeting and about halfway through Chuck leaned over and whispered to me "would it be acceptable to get up, me not being a member?" and I was like YES ABSOLUTELY GO GO GO so he got up and bore his testimony! it was so sweet! he said that exactly 2 years ago, to the date, one of his dear friends passed away. he hated God for it and thought He didn't care about him. but then the sisters knocked on his door and he said nobody ever knocks on his door lol but we were super nice and now he's at church on the 2 year anniversary.
God is SO aware of us. that was kinda a theme I guess cause quite a few people mentioned us in their testimonies. it made me feel good knowing something so small to me could mean the world to someone else and that I really am being an effective instrument in God's hands.

okay okay sorry this is getting long but Brandon invited us to go to catholic service with him after church.. so we did. I think it made his whole life. he was impressed that we kept our "badges" on and everything. catholic service was absolutely wild. nothing like anything I've ever seen in my life. and if I learned anything while I was there it's that I do know what I'm talking about and I'm part of Jesus Christ's true church on this earth today. boy am I blessed.

MONDAY
during contacting I noticed the UV was 8 so we went outside and sat on a picnic bench while we texted our friends lol
we visited a lot of members. including the waltz's! Brother Waltz gave us a token! awww he told us all about these tokens of respect or whatever from the military. well he got us some! they have the armor of God symbols on them. then we sat on Brandon's porch to tell him about the plan of salvation. his dad was drunk blasting country music inside and it brought me joy until boot scootin boogie came on and then I got Bundy reunion fever (ifykyk)

sorry its a bit longer...
love you and miss you all!
