spiritual thought: I was just reading in 2 Nephi chapter 9 and verse 39 says
O, my beloved brethren, remember the awfulness in transgressing against that Holy God, and also the awfulness of yielding to the enticings of that cunning one. Remember, to be carnally-minded is death, and to be spiritually-minded is life eternal.
carnally-minded - worldly thoughts
spiritually-minded - righteous thoughts
as long as we focus on being right with God then we can have eternal life.
I also noticed this:
S-piritually
M-inded
I-s
L-ife
E-ternal
SMILE! 😁
just remember to smile and think about Jesus!
amen.
MONDAY
we had a zone activity at the OSU practice fields. it was way hot and way humid so I just sat and watched... even still had sweat dripping down my back. after awhile we moved to the institute building to play some volleyball where there was A/C and that was much better.
TUESDAY
nothing super significant other than the waltz's fed us dinner! the heat has been absolutely wild.
WEDNESDAY
district council! it was so hot in the room we were in for some reason. but we had some good spirit led trainings and discussions. one of the elders gave a training on opening your mouth! (we call it OYM-ing) then he proceeded to open the window and OYM to the guy working outside the church building. he invited him to church and taught him about the Book of Mormon. it was quite inspiring. we've been talking about "how big is your bubble" like how far are you willing to go to share the gospel with someone? Will you only say something if you're walking by or will you go out of your way to go up to them and start a conversation? apparently Elder Sibbett has a huge bubble. on our way to a lesson we got stuck in stand still traffic. we got there eventually... but then our friends weren't home lol
THURSDAY
we had a lesson with our friend Jam. we were very bold with him and he recognized that the anger he was feeling about what we were saying was Satan and that what we were saying is true and Satan didn't want him to know that. which was pretty cool. he asked for a Book of Mormon so he could read more and find out the truth for himself. we're excited to go back! we also visited brother and sister Robinette! she told us some crazy mission stories. on the way home that night the sunset was absolutely beautiful and there were fireflies everywhere!
FRIDAY
we had a lesson with Mazzie and her dad, Don. Mazzie's sister Maggie was there with her 3 kids. the oldest, Tessa, has recently shown and interest in what we've been teaching. she's 10! her mom gave us permission to teach her and she even has her own Book of Mormon now! we stopped by Chuck and he wasn't home. he's been MIA for awhile.. praying we can get back in contact with him cause he's so elect!
SATURDAY
we had a new family move into our branch! Austin, Moriah and they're son Clark! they're absolutely adorable. we helped them move in and got to know them a little bit. Moriah is a convert, she served a mission at Temple Square! I love her energy and Clark is the most beautiful baby I've ever seen. we're so excited to have them in our branch. later it poured. like crazy. we were about to head out to dinner when we heard the loudest clap of thunder at the exact same time we saw lightning strike. absolutely terrifying! the streets were completely flooded and apparently if you're outside of the storm you can see where the rain starts and stops. I drove right through the line and it was the craziest experience of my life.
SUNDAY
we had church which was good! we didn't have any friends come but our recent convert brought his neices who aren't members! brother and sister Brooks had us over for dinner! she showed me her quilt she's making, it has the Utah national parks on it! I'll put a picture in my google photos :)
she also sent us home with freeze dried peaches. I think I needa get myself a freeze dryer.
it's been a great week! tell me about yours :) I miss and love you all! don't forget to smile :)
